The activities of the organization is focused only on Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment programmes by running drug treatment centres, generating awareness, giving training, advocacy and participating in National and Intentional events. The main activities can be described under the following heads:

DIVINE LIGHT (IRCA) Imphal West, Manipur :

The organization is running a 30 (thirty) bedded Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts in the name of DIVINE LIGHT IRCA at Langthabal Kunja, Canchipur, Imphal West. The centre is sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The centre started in the year 1991 as a 15 bedded centre but subsequently upgraded to a 30 bedded in view of the large number of clients coming for treatment services.

In the year 2019-20 the centre has given treatment to 361 drug addicts. In Type of Drug Abuse: 5 is using Opium, 287 are Heroin user, 1 is using Buprenorphene, 15 are using Propoxyphene, 26 are using Alcohol, 3 are using Cannabis, 3 are using Amphetamines, 10 are using Multiple Drugs and 1 is Other Drugs. Method of Drug Use : 97 are using Orally, 37 are Sniffing and 227 are Injecting. In Referral by Family are 340, By the NGOs 4, By Ex-Clients are 14 and Law Enforcement are 3. Marital Status of the Clients are : Never Married are 168, Married are 176, Divorced are 6, Separated are 5, Separated/divorced due to drug use are 6. The Educational level of the Clients are Illiterate are 3, Literate are 5, Primary are 46, Middle are 127, Higher Secondary are 112, Graduate are 52, Post Graduate are 10, Professional Trained are 6. In the Employment Status: 191 are Unemployed and Students, 170 are Employed. In counselling the centre conducting 868 Group Counselling, 2895 Individual Client Counselling and 1410 Family Counselling. The Centre also observing 26th June International Day Against Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking by conducting Ex-tempore Speech, Awareness Programme in Schools. It also observing the International Yoga Day and Swacchata Pakhwada by cleaning and planting of trees inside and outside the campus of the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre of Addicts (IRCA).

State Level Co-ordinating Agency, Imphal, Manipur :

The organization is also running a Regional Resource & Training Centre sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi. This centre is to cater the capacity building of all the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts in the state of Manipur which are supported by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi, Govt. of India. The staffs of the RRTC have visited all the centre in Manipur at least once in a year. It’s mandate is mainly to see that the Minimum Standard of Services approved by the Ministry is implemented in the various Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts. Besides the RRTC has taken up a numbers of training programme in collaboration with National Institute of Social Defence, New Delhi which are given below:

  • 1 number of 5 Days Courses on Relapse Prevention & Management for Functionaries of IRCAs sponsored by the National Institute for Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.
  • 2 numbers of 3 Days Orientation Course on Nurses and Ward Boys sponsored by the National Institute for Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.
  • 1 number of 15 Days Training Course for Staffs Working in Drug De-Addiction Centre sponsored by the National Institute for Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.
  • 7 numbers of 1 Day Capacity Building Programme for School Teachers / Counselors in Drug Abuse Prevention sponsored by the National Institute for Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.
  • 6 numbers of 1 Day Capacity Building Programme for Parents of Drug Abuser in Drug Abuse Prevention sponsored by the National Institute for Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.
  • 1 number of 1 Day Capacity Building Programme for Police Functionaries in Drug Abuse Prevention sponsored by the National Institute for Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.
  • 2 Numbers of 1 Day Sensitization Course for ODIC and CPLI Module for Staffs of Manipur, Nagaland and Meghalaya sponsored by the National Institute for Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.
  • 10 numbers of One Day Orientation/Sensitization School Based Programme on Drug Abuse Prevention for School Students sponsored by the National Institute for Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi.
